Honda Cars India, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda is planning to launch a revamped model of the Jazz premium hatchback in India. The announcement was made by Mr. Janeshwar Sen Senior Vice-President (Marketing and Sales) Honda Cars India at the launch of the Amaze sedan, Honda’s first car model in India with a diesel engine option.
The Japanese car manufacturer rolled out 6,600 units of the Jazz hatchback in the year 2012. Currently, the production of the Jazz has been put on hold in order to accommodate the production of the new sedan Amaze. The production of the hatchback has been on halt since February 2013 and there is no stock at the company’s production plants or the dealers.
Mr. Sen added that the automaker is considering developing a new seven-seater multi-purpose vehicle on the Brio platform. The new Amaze sedan has also been developed on the Brio small car’s platform.
