Japanese automaker Honda’s South African subsidiary, Honda South Africa (SA) is planning to launch the Brio hatchback car model in the country. The promotions for the hatchback commenced in South Africa and visitors to the Facebook page of Honda SA are being prompted to register with their details such as name and address and the tagline of the hatchback is revealed to them.

The existing tagline of Brio, “It loves you back” has been dropped and the new tagline adopted by the car for the South African auto market is “Life is unreliable. The Honda Brio isn’t”.

The car model is being manufactured in India at its Greater Noida production facility and 390 units of the car have already been imported to South Africa from India.

The Brio is equipped with a 1.2-litre four cylinder petrol motor which offers 90 PS of power and is mated to a 5-speed manual and optionally an automatic transmission. The car model is set to be the cheapest offering by Honda in the South African auto market and will be placed below the Jazz premium hatchback in the portfolio.
