Maruti Suzuki posts 9.84 percent growth in sales in September 2012

Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest car manufacturer has posted a growth of 9.84 percent in its total sales for the month of September 2012. The company sold 93,988 units in the month in comparison to 85,565 units sold in the same month in 2011.

The domestic sales of the carmaker stood at 88,801 units in September 2012, an increase of 12.76 percent over 78,816 units sold in September 2011. The exports of the company fell by 23.14 percent from 6,749 units in the September 2011 to 5,187 units in September 2012.

The total passenger car sales of the company witnessed a 3.43 percent growth selling 68,957 units in September 2012 as compared to 66,667 units sold in the same month in 2011.

The mini car segment comprising the M800, the A-Star, the Alto and the WagonR grew by 4.89 percent in the month. The sales in the compact segment of the company including the Swift, the Ritz and the Estilo fell by 9.68 percent.
