Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI), the joint venture between the Japanese automaker Honda and Indian group SIEL has appointed Mr. Hironori Kanayama as the new President and CEO of the company. The new head has assumed office on April 1, 2012.
According to a statement by HSCI, the company has also appointed Mr. Shigeru Yamazaki as Senior Vice-President and Director (Sales and Marketing) with effect from April 1, 2012. Mr. Kanayama stated that India is an important region for the company’s growth plans. He added that the company plans to expand its operations in the Indian auto market.
Commenting on the company’s sales in March 2012, Mr. Kanayama said that HSCI has posted its best ever monthly sales in the month of March 2012 selling 11,016 units, a growth of 208 percent.
Mr. Kanayama has replaced Mr. Takashi Nagai who has taken up the post of President and Representative Director for Honda Logistics Inc.
