Maruti Suzuki reports 6.5 percent increase in car sales

Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest car manufacturer witnessed an increase of 6.5 percent in its sales in February 2012 selling 1,18,949 units in comparison to its sales in the same period in 2011 with 1,11,645 units. The company’s sales in February 2012 are also an improvement over its sales in January 2012 which were 1,15,000 units.

Out of the total sales of the company, the domestic sales contributed 1,07,653 units which is an increase of 6 percent over 101,543 units in the month of Febrary 2011. The company’s exports also saw an increase of 11.8 percent in February 2012 raking up 11,296 units in comparison to 10,102 units in February 2011.

The passenger car sales of Maruti Suzuki increased by 7.1 percent with figures of 94,118 unit sold in February 2012 compared to 87,851 units sold in February 2011.
