Hyundai India, the country’s second largest car manufacturer is planning to introduce next generation Elantra and Sonata sedans with fluidic design concept by April-May 2012. The company wants to re-enter the premium car segment with these two car launches, states Mr. Arvind Saxena Hyundai Motor India Director (Marketing & Sales).
The new Elantra with a price range of Rs.10,00,000 to Rs. 13,00,000 will compete with the likes of the Honda Civic, the Toyota Corolla, the Chevrolet Cruze and the Volkswagen Jetta while the new Sonata will Volkswagen Passat, the Toyota Camry, the Honda Accord and the Skoda Superb in the premium segment.
Citing the success of Hyundai’s Verna which was re-launched in India with the company’s fluidic design concept, Mr. Saxena states that the company expects the two new cars to rake up large volumes.
