Jaguar Land Rover unveil 4 new car models in India at Auto Expo 2012

The Tata owned Jaguar Land Rover has unveiled 4 new car models in India at the Auto Expo 2012 on January 5, 2012. Land Rover’s cars unveiled at the event are the Defender Concept 100 and the Defender Concept 100 Sport, while the cars unveiled by Jaguar are the C-X16 and the C-X75. These cars have been showcased in India for the first time and have been participating at various global events.

The new Defender cars will get a global launch in 2015 as planned by Jaguar Land Rover. Currently, Jaguar Land Rover has 13 showrooms in India and is planning to expand its network in the country. According to Mr. Del Sehmar JLR India PR and Communications Manager, the company has seen a growth of 164 percent in the year 2011.

Tata Motors is also planning to synergize functions with Jaguar Land Rover and establish a manufacturing unit in India. The Land Rover car models such as the Freelander 2 SUV are already assembled at a facility in Pune India and Tata Motors currently have access to the JLR technology, says Mr. Ratan Tata, Tata Motors Chairman.
