Premier Limited which recently started its second innings in the Indian passenger vehicle segment with the launch of its compact diesel SUV named the ‘RiO,’ has now recently introduced a petrol version of the SUV in India.
The company introduced the petrol version of the compact SUV across major cities and select Tier II cities. The vehicle comes with a three year warranty and is modeled on China’s Mini SUV Daihatsu, which is sourced from the Zotye Group.
While the RiO petrol version is powered by a 1,173cc engine, and churns out 77BHP, the diesel version is powered by a 1,489cc turbo diesel engine based on Peugeot technology and churns out 65BHP of power and gives a mileage of 16 kmpl.
The company is assembling the RiO at its Pune plant and the SUV is available in four versions. The no-frills model comes at a price tag of Rs. 4,70,000 and the top-end model costs Rs. 6,30,000 (ex-showroom, Pune).
