India’s largest utility maker Mahindra & Mahindra on September 8, 2011, launched a new Mahindra Bolero. Priced little higher than the existing model, the new Bolero is fitted with a new m2DiCR engine which ensures better fuel efficiency.
The new Bolero is priced at Rs. 6,33,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is offered by the company in three variants namely SLE, SLX and ZLX. The new Mahindra Bolero, available in both BS III & IV versions, boasts of new technological incorporations such as digital cluster with driver information system and a digital engine immobilizer.
Addressing the reporters, M&M President for Automotive & Farm Equipment Sectors, Mr. Pawan Goenka stated that Bolero has been the highest selling SUV in the country for the past five years and the new m2DiCR engine will offer the new Bolero greater drivability and higher fuel efficiency. Mr. Goenka also added that the new Mahindra Bolero was developed on a low-cost platform.
Talking about the company’s exports figures, Mr. Goenka stated that the company’s exports rose 78 percent in the first five months of the fiscal year 2011-2012, apart from registering a 27 percent growth this year. The company has also announced its plan to launch five more models in 2011-2012.
