Volkswagen India 100,000th car rolls out from its Chakan plant

It was a moment of celebration for Volkswagen India when the 100,000th car, a Volkswagen Vento, rolled out from the Chakan plant at Pune in the presence of the Supriya Sule (Honourable Member of the Parliament), Dilip Mohite Patil (Honorable Member of the Legislative Assembly, Khed) and Vilas Lande (Honorable Member of Legislative Assembly, Bhosari). The company has achieved this number in just two years after the production started in May 2009.

Dr. John Chacko (Volkswagen Group Chief Representative, India and President & Managing Director Volkswagen India Private Limited) and Holger Nestler (Executive Director, Technical, Volkswagen India Private Limited) were also present at the occasion along with various Members of Parliament, suppliers, media person, members of the Board of Directors and employees.

It came to light that the 100,000th car was rolled out within five months after the 50,000th car was rolled out from the Chakan plant. The Volkswagen Polo, the Skoda Fabia and the Volkswagen Vento are currently being produced at this plant.
