Audi sub-compact car

The German luxury car maker, Audi, has been developing a car to compete in the compact car market, which is gaining more and more significance around the world. This new sub-compact car planned by Audi will be even smaller than the A1 and will be built on the NSF platform used by the Volkswagen Up!. It is rumored that the sub-compact car from Audi will also be made to accommodate lithium ion batteries as well, and therefore, this upcoming compact Audi vehicle will be available with the choice of either a petrol engine or an all-electric drivetrain.

The petrol engine will most likely be a 1.0 litre 3-cylinder engine sourced from the VW Up! The car will be a front wheel drive model only. There will also be a choice of three door and five door models. Audi’s new sub compact car will allow it to enter a segment below where it is currently operating allowing it to expand its market base and capitalize on its brand appeal.
