3072 units of Ford Fiesta recall in India

After the recent recalls by Mahindra, Honda, Maruti, Toyota and Nissan now Ford India is also following the same recall step for its sedan Fista diesel. The company has announced to recall of 3,072 units of the Ford Fiesta TDCi variants to replace a suspected faulty part which is used to start the diesel engine.

Company said that “the safety and comfort of our customers are always top priorities. For their peace of mind and convenience, we have initiated a Field Service Action to correct a product concern on 3,072 Ford Fiesta TDCi vehicles”. So the company is writing to customers and asking them to contact their local Ford dealer so that a new design, a waterproof Glow Plug Control Module, can be installed free of charge. The Ford Fiesta in question here, built at the plant from October 14, 2010, to December 16, 2011.

For the information, this is not the first time Ford India has replaced this product. Previously in July 2013 Company recalled Ecosport diesel variants for replacing the same Glow Plug Control Module. After that year in September, they recalled over 1.66 lakh of the Figo and Classic models to inspect them for potential issues related to the rear twist beam (RTB) and the power assisted steering (PAS) hose.

The refreshed Fiesta was launched in June this year, which is only in diesel engine powered by the 1.5-litre, 90 bhp of power at a starting price range from Rs. 7.69 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
