2016 Honda Accord Hybrid launched in India

As its name also suggests, the latest version of Honda’s flagship sedan is powered by a hybrid powertrain. The 2.0-litre petrol motor makes 143bhp and 175Nm of torque, and it works in conjunction with two electric motors. The propulsion motor drives the wheels and the generator produces electricity. All combined, the hybrid system develops 212bhp. Transmission duties are carried out by an E-CVT automatic gearbox.

The Accord Hybrid has been loaded to the gills with all new and modern features, including full-LED headlamps, a 360watt 10-speaker infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rain sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, rear parking camera, sunroof, keyless entry, pre-heating and pre-cooling system that allows controlling the cabin’s temperature using the key fob, and many more features. Safety features on the Honda Accord Hybrid include ABS with brake assist, Vehicle Stability Assist, 6 airbags, three-point seatbelts, hill assist, and Lane Watch. The Honda Accord Hybrid has a direct rival on the market in the shape of the Toyota Camry Hybrid, but it will carry a heftier price tag of Rs 37lakhs ex-showroom Delhi.
