Tata and Ford Union bosses go into the crucial meeting this week

Since the talks on November 20th, the officials from Tata and Ford Union haven’t gotten together to discuss how things stand with the Tata’s JLR takeover. Eddie Barrett of Unite (the Union for Ford) said, “We haven’t really met Tata yet since the presentation last year, so this will be a very important meeting.”

When the meeting takes place in the latter half of this week, Barrett said that the chief topic of discussion would be the “importance of preserving the productive capacity.” He reported that the two companies, i.e., Jaguar and Land Rover employ 7000 people and that “there is no reason to believe that any of it is going to be affected.”

Tata has offered 2 billion dollars for the two luxury brands and is the preferred bidder over Mahindra & Mahindra and OneEquity.
