New Porsche 911 launches in India at Rs 1.42 Crore

German luxury sports car maker Porsche has officially launched the new Porsche 911 variants range Carrera, Cabriolet, Carrera S and Turbo S in India. The 911 Carrera range is available at starting priced Rs. 1,42,33,000 – 1,76,39,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) while the new 911 Turbo range start between Rs. 2,25,92,000 – Rs. 2,81,64,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).

New Porsche 911 technical details:

The main highlight of new model 911 is the new 3.0-liter turbocharged flat-six engine with Carrera (991.2) lineup, which includes the 911 Carrera, 911 Carrera S, 911 Carrera Cabriolet and 911 Carrera S Cabriolet variants in place of 3.4- and 3.8-litre engines. The engine in the Carrera variants output 370 hp of power and 450 Nm of torque, while the Carrera S variants produce 420 hp (above 20 hp gain across the range) and 500 of Nm (increased by 60 Nm) of torque.

It is available with a 7-speed manual or Porsche’s 7-speed PDK transmission and Sport Chrono Package sprints from zero to 100 kph in 4.2 seconds, two tenths of a second faster than its predecessor, while the 911 Carrera S with PDK and Sport Chrono Package achieves the same in just 3.9 seconds. The 911 Carrera now has a top speed of 294.51 kph (an increase of 6.5 kph), while the 911 Carrera S now reaches 307.4 kph (an increase of 4.8 kph).

New Porsche 911 features highlight:

The new features included in latest 911 range which is company new 7.0-inch PCM touchscreen infotainment system, which includes a seven-inch display that recognises multi-touch gestures with navigation and Connect Plus module and a redesigned steering wheel inspired by the Porsche 918 Spyder. Other highlight features include an updated Sport Chrono Package with steering mounted controls, a “Sport Response Button” which pre-conditions the drive-train for maximum acceleration for 20 seconds, active rear-axle steering and an optional hydraulically operated nose lift system that increases the ground clearance at the nose by 40 mm within five seconds. The Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), which works in conjunction with new dampers, has also been updated, and is a now standard feature of every Carrera model.

Standard features in 911 Carrera range includes leather interior, sports seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, SPORT button, Bi-Xenon headlights, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Stability Management (PSM), tyre pressure monitoring, Porsche Vehicle Tracking anti-theft system, 3-year warranty and three year roadside assistance package.

Also comes with new optional features to connect an iPhone to the PCM to use Apple CarPlay. New assistance systems include an optional automatic speed control, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), optional Lane Change Assist and a multi-collision braking system. The 991.2 also rides on new wheels, while the rear tyres of the 911 Carrera S are now 10 mm wider. A sports exhaust system can also be had as an optional feature.
