Maruti Suzuki India has confirmed the launch date of the latest version of its compact sedan Maruti Suzuki Dzire on 16th May 2017, and the bookings has already begun at the token amount of Rs. 11,000 at company all authorized dealerships. The new DZire 2017 comes with almost the all features expected in a compact family sedan, and it compete against the entry-level sedan segment like Tata Tigor, Ford Aspire, Honda Amaze, Volkswagen Ameo and Hyundai Xcent.

The company has also ditched the Swift name from the nameplate, now the badge is only DZire no more Swift DZire and the reason is to let the model grow independently with unique identity like the competitors are doing for Tata Tigor, Honda Amaze and Hyundai Xcent.
New Maruti Suzuki Dzire 2017 technical details:
In-terms of technical details, the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire will be powered by the same 1.2-litre 4-cylinder K-Series (K12B) petrol engine while the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine is now get the company’s mild hybrid system – ‘Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS), that making it a mild hybrid like the Ciaz model. The power figures are expected to remain unchanged and the both engines will get a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AGS (AMT) transmission.
The company has claimed ARAI-certified fuel economy of 20.85 kmpl for Petrol MT and 18.5 kmpl for petrol AMT, while the diesel engine has 26.59 kmpl for MT as well as AMT. The new Dzire will be measure 40mm wider and 20 mm longer wheelbase also the weight of the Petrol model has gone down by 85kg, while the diesel version is now 105kg lighter from the current version.

The prices will be announced at same time when it launch on 16th May 2017 but according to my research, the expect prices to be start from Rs 5.50 lakh for the Petrol and Rs 6.20 lakh for the diesel variant and it goes upto Rs. 9 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
