German car maker Mercedes-Benz has injected some muscle juice into its E-Class estate and thrown in an all-wheel-drive system as well for good measure. The result is the Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain, which will rival the Audi A6 All-Road and the Volvo V90 Cross Country. The E-Class All-Terrain will feature the same 2.2-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine from the E220 d that churns out 194bhp. It will also come with a 9-speed automatic 9G-Tronic gearbox with power being sent to the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system. The vehicle gets an SUV-style two-fin grille with the star integrated in the centre, and more beefed up front and rear bumpers, plastic cladding on the flared wheel arches in addition to plastic cladding on the side skits as well.
The car has also been lifted by 29mm from that standard estate and with the Air Body Control it can be raised and lowered up to 35mm higher than the original setting. The overall ground clearance of the E-Class All-Terrain is 121mm at its lowest setting and can be raised up to 156mm. While this isn’t a lot when you compare it to other vehicles in India, but it certainly is a decent ground clearance for a Mercedes Estate.
