Honda recalls 57,676 cars units for faulty Airbags

Honda car India reported to recall of 57,676 units of its 3-models Hona City, Jazz and Civic, manufactured between January 2012 and June 2013 for the replacement of faulty airbags as a component of its worldwide activity. The replacement would be carried out free of cost at all authorised Honda Car dealerships across India in a phased manner, starting from February 20, 2016, and the company will communicate with customers directly.

Company said to replace the driver side airbag inflators of 57,676 vehicles of City, Jazz and Civic according to its preventive global exercise. The review will influence 49,572 units of City car made between January 2012 and June 2013, 7,504 units of premium hatchback Jazz produced during February 2012 to February 2013 and 600 units of Honda Civic manufactured between January 2012 and August 2012.

This is not the first of recall the vehicle by the HCIL, in September company had announced to recall around 2.24 lakh units of CR-V, Civic, City and hatchback Jazz manufactured between 2003 and 2012 to replace faulty airbag inflators, which was the largest such exercise in the country then. In December last year (2015), the company declared to recall 90,210 units of Honda City and Mobilio in India made between December 2013 and July 2015 for the faulty fuel return pipes.
