Honda plans to launch the hybrid version of Civic in India soon. Mr. Takedagawa, the CEO & President of Honda Siel India said that the company planned on an increase of 35% in the sale figures of the cars and hence, increasing it from 68,000 cars in this financial year to 90,000 in 2008-09.
Mr. Takedagawa was visiting Greater Noida for the inauguration of the revamped production facility that increased the output capacity to 1,00,000 from 50,000. There was also word about the new Honda facility in Rajasthan to start operating by end of this year for successful manufacture of Jazz.
Honda is also charged up to increase its dealership networks to about 160 spread across 90 cities. The most interesting bit of the whole evening was when Mr. Takedagawa announced, “We have initiated an internal study on the second compact car and its launch will depend on the kind of response we get from the first car.”
