Hatchback Maruti Baleno to launch on 26th October in India

The big news announced from the media source that the Maruti Suzuki India is going to launch Hatchback Maruti Baleno before Diwali festival. It has been already revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show codename YRA. After the S-Cross model, this new hatchback will be the second car by the company which will be sold from the recently opened Maruti Nexa premium showrooms In India. The Maruti Baleno will compete against its rival Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz & Volkswagen Polo.

It is a car that will go beyond – in all areas – what people have come to expect in a compact car” said Mr. Toshihiro Suzuki, president of Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC). According to him also company plans to launch 20 new models in the next 5 years globally.

Hatchback Maruti Baleno technical:

Internationally the Baleno will be powered by Suzuki’s new 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol motor, which will produce 110 bhp of power and 17.33 kgm of torque. But In the Indian market it is expected to launch in 1.2-litre DUALJET petrol and the 1.3-litre diesel engine that produce 89bhp DDiS 200, and Boosterjet engine will join later on. The 1.2-litre petrol model will also come with an option of a CVT transmission for the first time. The diesel Baleno is likely to come in India with the newly launched SHVS fuel-saving technology engine.

 

The Baleno measures 3,995mm in length; 1,745mm in width; 1,470mm (1,460mm with SHVS) in Height; 2,520mm of Wheelbase and 120mm (110mm with SHVS) minimum ground clearance and Boot space is also too larger at 355 litres.

The “Liquid Flow” design theme-suggestive of an energetic mass of liquid in motion-permeates throughout, articulated by curving lines and expressive surfaces. Meanwhile, a low and wide silhouette helps underline a strong and sporty look.

At the inside instrument panel is flared at each end for a sense of breadth and is characterised by curving lines. Silver accents stand out against the restrained black of the cabin, and reddish-amber illumination for the audio, air conditioner, gear shift indicator, and other controls underline the cabin’s stylishness.

A large, high-definition color LCD display in the instrument cluster shows performance and other information through user-friendly graphics. Highlighted features include driving G-force, engine output and torque, accelerator/brake operation.

A Smartphone linked audio display with a 7-inch touch screen has a USB port and SD card slot and displays the view behind the vehicle by way of a rear view camera. It can also be connected to smartphones using MirrorLink. It can be connected to an iPhone via a USB cable for using Apple CarPlay’s various functions, such as Maps, Phone, Messages, and Music, as well as Podcasts, Audiobooks, and third-party Apple CarPlay compatible audio apps.

It will be loaded with host of features such as automatic air conditioner for the comfortable atmosphere, An adaptive cruise control system uses millimetre wave radar to monitor following distance and automatically accelerate or decelerate the vehicle to maintain a long, medium, or short distance from any vehicle directly in front as set by the driver. It also features a speed limiter that prevents the vehicle from exceeding the maximum speed set by the driver, regardless of the extent to which the accelerator pedal is pushed.

The expected price of Maruti Baleno is Rs. 5.25 to 8 lakh in India.
