General Motors plans to introduce further competition in Indian small car segment after a successful Chevrolet Spark. Sources say that GM is seriously considering a car below 1L, ranging close to 800-900 cc to bank in on the voracious appetite that Indians have for small cars and to also increase their Indian market share to 10 percent.
This speculated and secretive move by GM is in keeping with the steps taken by other stalwarts like Nissan, Volkswagen, Ford and Toyota to introduce small cars after the world was swept off its feet with unveiling of Nano.
