Ford to get back into talks with Jaguar-Land Rover Union

It looks like it is going to be a while before Tata can lay their hands on the JLR agreement. The Ford management is going to go into talks again with Unite, the labour union, over the issues of jobs and staying put with the production facilities in England.

The meeting is to be held on Monday and is a continuation of the talks held on February 8th. The aforementioned meeting had drawn to an end without making much progress with all the issues in contention. The next meeting, says a source, will be to make a headway in the issues raised. “The main demand being pursued by Unite is on job security and protecting production capacity at three JLR plants in UK.”

Ford, however, continues to emphasize on the fact that the sale process of JLR is independent and not influenced by the talks going on with the union.
