In Fiat’s publicity bid, two Ferraris are going to zoom around India followed by Fiat Cinquecento (500) and Bravo. This will be a forerunner for the New 500 and the premium hatchback being launched in India. “This is the Magic of India drive which will begin from Mumbai by the end of this month. From Mumbai, it will go south, then east and across the rest of the country,” said Mr. Rajeev Kapoor, CEO, Fiat India and finished by saying, “There are no plans to bring Ferrari to India.”
While that may be the case but Alfa Romeo is sure going to be spotted burning the roads by the end of this year. “We are evaluating the Indian market and the price points (at which the car can come) and a study is currently on. Our plans to bring in the car should be ready by the middle of the year and we expect to see a few Alfa Romeos on Indian roads by the fourth quarter of this year,” said Mr. Kapoor.
