General Motors India this week introduced a new ‘buy back’ scheme for the Opel Corsa and the Opel Astra, under which customers can exchange their old Opel cars for new Chevrolet models. The company will offer the car’s market price to customers , which will depend on the physical condition of the car and the model year, along with free accessories worth Rs 10,000. GM India Vice President P. Balendran told media-persons that, through the new scheme, the company is giving an opportunity to customers to enjoy the ‘Chevrolet experience’, and that the goal is to reach out to old and new customers alike and provide them the best and the latest cars.
The Opel Corsa and Opel Astra exchange programme is a good idea of General Motors to show its customer loyalty. This will also boost sale of its Chevrolet

This is good step.
But GM must have to think why people are not comfortable to purchase their Car in India. Why Maruti or Hundai.
The only diffrence is:-
1 service & service Center
2 Personel Intraction of GM with Indian Market
3. High Cost of spare
4. Less Resale Value
I am using Spark DL 2C AJ 0511. Have faced above problem & hence 10 of my friend have not purchased GM cars. They prefer to take Alto, Vagnar, Sentro just because of above.

when GM launched their Spark model many users of the Matiz (daweoo) were expecting an exchange offer or any service / maintainance from GM for matiz
At least now they can do it! Spark is re-newal of Matiz model.
This would be win-win situation for GM as well as Matiz users!!

Why don’t GM bring back Opel Corsa and Astra back into the Indian Market.. What is the real problem in bringing it back.
