Jaguar Land Rover, the luxury car brand owned by the India automaker Tata Motors has launched the Jaguar F-Type sports car in India at an entry level price of Rs 1.37 crore. The new sports car is available in two variants, namely the F-Type V8S with a 5 liter petrol engine and the F-Type S with a V6 3-litre petrol engine.
While the F-Type S variant is priced at Rs 1.37 crore (ex-showroom Mumbai), the higher model F-Type V8S has been priced at Rs 1.61 crore (ex-showroom Mumbai). According to Mr. Rohit Suri Vice President Jaguar Land Rover India, the launch of the Jaguar F-Type car model in India is significant for the company in order to enhance the appeal of the Jaguar car brand in India.
Mr. Suri added that the carmaker is not looking for volume sales stating that the Indian sports car market is very small. He further stated that the carmaker is also exploring options to assemble more car models in India apart from the Land Rover Freelander 2 and the Jaguar XF sedan.
