Volvo India to launch V40 Cross Country on June 14, 2013

Volvo India, the Indian arm of the Swedish auto manufacturer Volvo is set to introduce the V40 Cross Country crossover car model in the Indian market in June 2013. The new car model will be available in both petrol as well as diesel fuel options.

The T4 petrol version of the car model will be powered by a 1.6-litre GTDi engine offering 182.5 PS and a maximum torque of 270 Nm while the diesel version D3 will be equipped with a 2.0-litre offering 152 PS. The new car model will feature start/stop and braking energy regeneration with both manual as well as automatic gearbox.

Volvo, which is one of the leading manufacturers of safety enabled automobiles, will offer renowned safety equipment like the City Safety auto-braking technology as well as the world-first pedestrian airbag technology.

With the launch of the new V40 Cross Country, Volvo forays into the crossover segment with a focus at young car buyers. The new car model will be competing with the likes of the Mercedes B-Class and the BMW X1 car models.
