Indian automobile manufacturer Hindustan Motors is planning to launch a new model of the Ambassador in the Indian car market. The new car model will be powered by a new 1.5 litre BS IV-compliant diesel engine.
The new car model of the Ambassador has been unveiled to Kolkata’s taxi association at its manufacturing plant where the company dealers were also allowed to drive the new model. The car will be launched in the Indian market with a new name, states the company.
According to the carmaker, the new BS IV Ambassador will be introduced in 17 metropolitan cities where the existing BS III version of the car has been discontinued due to non-compliance with BS IV pollution norms since April 2010.
