Indian automobile manufacturer Tata Motors has posted a decline of 13.96 percent in its sales for the month of November 2012. The automaker sold 62,354 units in the month in comparison to 72,474 units sold in the November 2011. The total sales for the period April to November 2012 stood at 5,48,168 units against 5,44, 492 units sold in the same period in 2011.
The company saw its passenger car sales decline from 27,735 units sold in the month of November 2011 to 18,031 units in the same month in 2012. The sales declined across the portfolio with the exception of the utility vehicle range including the Sumo, the Safari, the Aria and the Venture which saw a marginal rise in sales numbers.
The exports of the automaker also fell from 4,349 units in November 2011 to 4,146 units in November 2012. The total exports in the period April to November 2012 were 35,521 units in comparison to 39,598 units in the same period in 2011.
The carmaker also witnessed a decline in the sales of commercial vehicles selling 44,323 units in the month of November 2012 against 44,732 units sold in November 2011.
