Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest car manufacturer launched the new Alto 800 on October 16, 2012 in the Indian car market and expects the launch ahead of the festival season in October and November 2012 to boost sales for the company. The automaker is pinning its hopes on the Alto 800 to set a new car sales record for Diwali 2012.
The new entry level car by the Japanese carmaker has been competitively priced in the Indian car market and is claimed to have improved fuel efficiency and new features and styling. The car is competing with car models such as Hyundai Eon and Tata Nano which are also being offered with various festive discounts and complimentary accessories.
The Alto is being positioned as an option for first time buyers and younger generation in the Indian car market. The earlier Alto model has been a best seller since its launch and the company expects to repeat this success with the new car model.
