Maruti Suzuki India to produce 2000 cars per day at Manesar facility

Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest car manufacturer is planning to achieve production numbers of 2000 cars per day by the end of November 2012 at its Manesar facility. The manufacturing facility situated in Haryana is currently producing 1500 cars per day.

The company’s Manesar facility was hit by a workers driven riot in the month of July 2012 and was able to resume production by August 2012. The disruption in production has cost a huge loss to the carmaker in the already sluggish car market. The automaker has been gradually increasing production at the facility since it reopened.

The company has also launched the new Alto 800 in the Indian car market with the expectation that it will help in boosting car sales during the festival season in October and November 2012. The new car model received more than 10,000 bookings prior to its launch on October 15, 2012.
