Volkswagen India to launch cheaper high-end models of Polo and Vento

Volkswagen India, the Indian arm of the German auto major Volkswagen is planning to launch upgraded versions of the Polo hatchback and the Vento mid-size sedan in the second half of September 2012. There will be some changes in the prices across both car model ranges with the lower-end variants becoming costlier and the higher-end becoming cheaper.

The high-end models of both the Polo and the Vento will be cheaper in the range of Rs 20,000 to Rs 50,000. Apart from lowering the prices, the company will also offer additional features such as Bluetooth connectivity, RCD music system, navigation system with rear view camera and alloy wheels.

The Volkswagen Polo petrol Highline variant will now be priced at Rs 5,84,400 (Ex-showroom Delhi) as opposed to the current price of Rs 6,24,409. The highline diesel variant of the Polo will be priced at Rs 6,94,400 (Ex-showroom Delhi) instead of the current price of Rs 7,36,407.

The Vento petrol highline will be available at a price of Rs 9,97,186 (Ex-showroom Delhi) in comparison to the current price of Rs 9,97,186 while the manual petrol highline variant will be priced at Rs 8,74,805 (Ex-showroom Delhi) against the current price of Rs 8,95,000. The Vento diesel highline variant will be offered at a price of Rs 9,89,805 (Ex-showroom Delhi) in comparison to the current price of Rs 10,20,171.

Commenting on the upcoming launches, Mr. Arvind Saxena Managing Director Volkswagen Passenger Cars stated that the introduction of the refreshed Polo and Vento is aimed to offer enhanced value to the customers.
