Ford India reports an increase of 16.1 percent in August 2012 sales

American automobile manufacturer Ford’s Indian arm, Ford India has witnessed a 16.1 percent growth in its total sales for the month of August 2012. The automaker sold a total of 10,352 units in the month in comparison to 8,916 units in the August 2011. The company’s domestic sales rose by 6.2 percent from 7,382 units in the month to 7,840 units in august 2012.

A total of 2,512 units were exported by the American automaker in the August 2012 in comparison to 1,534 units in the same month in 2011, a growth of 63 percent.

According to Mr. Michael Boneham President and Managing Director Ford India, the company expects the demand for cars to grow as the festival season draws closer. He added that the company is focused at offering fuel efficient and ‘fun to drive’ cars to its customers despite the high fuel prices and slow sales.
