Nissan India posts 155 percent increase in sales in June 2012

Nissan Motor India, the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese automaker has posted a growth of 155 percent in its sales for the month of June 2012 selling 4,167 units in comparison to 1,632 units sold by the company in June 2011. These figures translate to a three-fold increase in sales on a year-on-year basis.

The majority of the sales are contributed by the Sunny sedan and the Micra hatchback with 3,066 units and 1,091 units respectively. The rest of the 10 units were accounted for by the X-Trail SUV, the Teana luxury sedan and the 370Z sports car.

The company is also planning the launch of a new Urban utility vehicle the Evalia and expects the new car model to expand the range of the company’s portfolio in India.
