Audi India sales increase by 76 percent in June 2012

The Indian arm of the German luxury automaker Audi has posted a growth of 76 percent in its sales in the month of June 2012 selling 718 cars in comparison to 408 cars sold in June 2011. The company’s cumulative sales for the period January-June 2012 increased 43 percent recording sales of 4,000 units as compared to 2,802 cars sold in the same period in 2011.

According to Audi India Head Mr. Michael Perschke, the major contributor to the sales figures for the month of June 2012 was the new Audi Q3 SUV which gathered 500 bookings within 5 days of launch. He added that in response to the consumer enthusiasm, the company has opened the bookings of the SUV for another round of 500 cars.

Among other plans, the luxury carmaker will expand its dealership network from 19 centers to 25 by the end of 2012.
