Mahindra to invest Rs 3,000 crore in Uttarakhand

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) is considering an investment of Rs 3,000 crore in order to establish a manufacturing facility in the state of Uttarakhand. According to the state government, the Mahindra Group has put forward a proposal for the new project.

Mr. Pawan Goenka President (Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors) M&M met with Mr. Vijay Bahuguna Chief Minister Uttarakhand on April 26, 2012 and is reported to have discussed the setting up of the manufacturing facility which will have a capacity to produce 2,50,000 units on a yearly basis.

An area of 500 acres has been requested by the automaker for the setting up of the production plant. Mr. Bahuguna stated that the government will try to allocate land to the company at Sitargunj.
