Honda hikes car prices by up to Rs 93,975

Honda Siel Cars India, the Indian arm of the Japanese automaker Honda has implemented a hike of up to Rs. 93,975 across its car models in response to the increase in the excise duty in the new Budget 2012-13. The company stated that the revised prices were effective from March 17, 2012 making the entry level compact car Brio costlier by Rs 4,000 – Rs 10,000 in accordance with the variant of the car. The price range for the Brio will be Rs 3,99,000 – Rs 5,20,000 (Ex-showroom Delhi).

The price hike on the company’s premium hatchback Jazz will be in the range of Rs 14,972 – Rs 15,000 putting the hatchback in the price bracket of Rs 5,75,000 – Rs 6,31,000. The City sedan will be costlier by Rs 5,000 – Rs 10,500 taking the price range to Rs 7,10,000 – Rs 10,33,000 depending on the variant of the car. The Civic sedan by Honda will become costlier by Rs 36,600 – Rs 45,800 and will be priced Rs 12,59,000 – Rs 14,88,000.

The highest price hike will be on the company’s top end sedan Accord to the tune of Rs 67,5000 to Rs 93,975 bring the cost of the car to Rs 20,29,000 to Rs 27,37,000.
