General Motors India has introduced its new variant of the multi utility vehicle (MUV) Chevrolet Tavera Neo 3 compliant with Bharat Stage IV emission norms. The new variant has been priced between Rs 7,51,000 and Rs 10,34,000 (Ex-showroom Delhi). With the launch of a BS IV compliant variant, the car can now be sold in 13 more cities where these norms are being followed.
Mr. Lowell Paddock GM India President and Managing Director states that the new variant will help boost the sales for the company. The company targets sales of 25,000 units of the Tavera in the 2012-13 fiscal in comparison to 21,000 units in 2011-12.
The new Tavera MUV is equipped with a 2-liter BS-IV diesel engine which will be sourced from the Sonalika Group. The BSIV compliant MUV claims a mileage of 12.2 kilometers per liter.
