Export of Nissan Sunny to begin from March 2012

Nissan India plans to commence the export of the Nissan Sunny sedan by March 2012. The Japanese automaker has already begun exporting the Micra hatchback and is now preparing for the export of its latest introduction to the Indian market, the Sunny sedan. The company plans to start exporting the Sunny to the Middle East markets, said Mr. Kiminobu Tokuyama Nissan Motor India Managing Director and CEO.

The Nissan Micra and Sunny sedan are currently being manufactured at the company’s Oragadam facility near Chennai which is capable of manufacturing 2,00,000 units annually. Talking about the future plans of the company, Mr. Tokuyama commented that the company would expand the production capacity of its Oragadam plant to 4,00,000 units by March 2012.
