Hyundai India witness 3.6 percent increase in car sales in December 2011

Hyundai Motor India saw an increase of 3.6 percent in its December sales in 2011 over its sales in December 2010 from 47,228 units to 48,949 units. The second largest car manufacturer in India stated that its domestic sales jumped by 12.8 percent from 26,168 units in December 2010 to 29,516 units in December 2011. The company’s exports in the month have come down by 7.7 percent from 21,060 units in 2010 to 19,433 units in 2011.

The sales figures for Hyundai’s A2 segment which consist of the Eon, the Santro, the i10 and the i20 models and variants were 42,624 units while for the A3 segment comprising the Accent and the Verna, the company sold 6,247 units. The Hyundai Sonata Transform from the A5 segment saw sale of 11 units while the newly launched SUV Santa Fe sold 67 units in December 2011.
