The Hyundai EON in India is set for an October launch in 2011, and the booking for it are expected to commence in the second week of October, 2011. The booking amount for Hyundai EON is expected to be around Rs. 10,000. As the new car is expected to be launched in October, 2011, Hyundai hopes to cash in on the festive spirit to boost the sales of the car. The hatchback is expected to compete with Maruti Alto.
The new car is expected to come at price tag of Rs. 2,50,000 while the high end variants of the car might cost around Rs. 3,00,000 to Rs. 3,20,000. The delivery of the car is expected to begin around the first week of November, 2011. The Hyundai EON is powered by an 814cc three cylinder engine generating 55.23 bhp power coupled with 75 Nm of torque. The hatchback will use the same fluidic concept as witnessed in the Hyundai i10 and the Hyundai Verna. The car is expected to offer a mileage of 21 kmpl and the boot space is expected to be around 215 liter.
