Honda launched the new Honda Brio in India on September 27, 2011. Competitively priced between Rs.3,95,000 and Rs. 5,10,000, the car will compete with the Hyundai i10, the Maruti WagonR and the Chevrolet Beat. The Brio has a 1.2 litre petrol engine that churns out 88 PS and 109 Nm of torque.
Commenting on the launch of Honda Brio, Siel Cars India President and CEO, Mr. Takashi Nagai stated, “It has been designed and developed specially to meet the needs of customers here.” Mr. Nagai also added that through cost-efficient measures and large scale localization the company has been successful in keeping the price of the car very attractive. The new Honda Brio which at present is 80 per cent localized will become 90 per cent localized by late 2011 or early 2012.
The new Honda Brio in India has been introduced in four variants and the car justifies Honda’s design philosophy “Man Maximum, Machine Minimum” as the car can seat five people and has a spacious boot. The stand out feature of the Honda Brio’s boot is that it has a full glass boot lid.
