Audi India on August 23, 2011, launched the business edition of its sports utility vehicle Q5 2.0 TDI Quattro. Available at Audi dealerships from October 2011, the SUV will bear a price tag of Rs. 35,13,000 (ex-showroom Maharashtra).
The car is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, xenon-plus headlights, LED daytime running lights and leather and leatherette interiors with wood inlays. The Q5 2.0 TDI is powered with a 125kW, 170 hp engine which has a maximum torque of 350 Nm @ of 1,750 rpm and is mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission giving an average fuel efficiency of 12.80 km per litre. Imported as a completely knocked down unit, the SUV will be assembled in India.
According to Audi India Head, Mr. Michael Perschke, the Audi Q5 2.0 TDI Q is perfectly equipped to strengthen the company’s leadership position in the luxury SUV segment. Mr. Perschke also added that the car has been competitively priced, making it affordable to a wider range of customers. As the Audi Q5 is already popular with a large number of people in India, Mr. Perschke stated that the attractive pricing of Audi Q5 2.0 TDI, rope in more customers to enjoy a premium experience. The Audi media interface with concert radio, a storage package, and the rear parking aid further enhances the driver’s experience.
With Indian customers responding positively to the new launches, the company is confident of reaching its sales target of 5,000 cars by the end of 2011. Currently, the range of vehicles offered by Audi in India includes Audi A4, New Audi A6, Audi A8, Audi A7 Sportback, Audi Q5, Audi Q7, the sports car Audi R8 and Audi R8 Spyder.
