Japanese carmaker Toyota launched a new variant of Corolla Altis in both petrol and diesel options on June 16th, 2011. The recently launched Corolla Altis is the new modernized avatar of the existing Corolla Altis. The re-worked models of the new Toyota Altis are priced between Rs. 10,53,000 and 14,77,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s Managing Director, Mr. Hiroshi Nakagawa, at the launch on Thursday quoted, “We are delighted to now introduce the New Corolla Altis that will offer an exclusive blend of contemporary styling, luxurious features and intelligent performance, in response to the latest customer demands of the times. “ He hoped that the new variant of Corolla Altis would exceed the customers’ expectations.
The petrol variant is fitted with a 1.8 litre petrol engine capable of generating power up to 1798cc. This variant is available either in super CVT-i with 7 speed sequential shiftmatic or 6 speed manual transmission. The diesel engine maintains its 1ND D-4D diesel engine and 6 speed manual transmission. Both the versions now come with better fuel efficiency. The car’s exterior bears (for both petrol and diesel variants) a new style and the diesel option comes with a new stronger dynamic grille. In terms of its interiors, the car boasts of new plush leather perforated seats and darker grey upper interiors. The sedan comes loaded with latest gizmos such as a new DVD touchscreen audio with Bluetooth, a newly designed optitron meter with eco diving indicator, reverse sensor and a push start/stop button. The sedan is available in 7 colours to choose from.
