Mahindra’s Mini Xylo undergoing road tests

Mahindra & Mahindra is working towards launching its smaller version of Xylo, called Mini Xylo. This mini SUV is expected to hit the Indian roads by mid of 2011. Challenging to take the hatchback and the SUV market in India to a new level, the Mini Xylo is expected to be priced between Rs. 4.5-6.5 lakh.

This SUV is less than four metres in length, and in comparison to Xylo, its tail lamps are placed at a higher level and its bumper is redesigned. To enhance its sporty look, the spare tire is fitted to its tailgate. The Mini Xylo is expected to carry a diesel engine of 1.5 litres.

The SUV was recently spotted undergoing road tests in Ooty, Tamil Nadu. Another attractive feature of Mini Xylo is that it would attract only 10% excise duty in comparison to 22% central excise duty reserved for bigger cars.
