Chinese car makers eye Indian market

Great Wall Motor Company Haval M4

Although India and China are competing heavily in the international auto market space, it seems that China has taken a key interest into the domestic Indian market. Seeing the potential it has to offer, Chinese car maker Great Wall Motor Company has announced plans to enter the Indian market with many different products and hopefully set up a manufacturing facility in 2016.

Great Wall Motor is China’s 8th largest manufacturer and they have already sent a small delegation to meet with Indian government officials. If all goes well then Great Wall would be the very first Chinese car maker to enter Indian shores without an Indian Partner. Current products in their portfolio include the Haval SUV, a small passenger sedan and pick-up trucks. Most of the company’s business is in developing countries where it sells pick-up trucks. It has operations in over 100 countries.
