Renault launches luxury sedan Fluence in India

Renault FluenceFrench automaker Renault officially launched its luxury sedan ‘Fluence,’ in India on 23rd May, 2011. Available in two variants petrol (2 litre engine) and diesel (1.5 litre engine); Fluence is priced at Rs. 12.9 lakh and Rs. 14.4 lakh for its petrol and diesel variant respectively. The car will be assembled at Renault’s Chennai plant and is Renault’s first solo venture in the Indian market after its unsuccessful joint venture called ‘Mahindra Logan’ earlier with Mahindra & Mahindra. The car also comes loaded with gadgets like Bluetooth Connectivity, Keyless Start, Cruise Control, Driver Lumbar and ESP to name a few.

Commenting on Fluence, Renault India’s Managing Director Marc Nassif said “The Renault Fluence was designed for the Asian market and hence we are confident that it will not only shake up the segment, but also give the Indian customer their first taste of what Renault is capable of bringing to the Indian market.” Renault feels the high selling point of Fluence is its delightful amalgam of design and style.

Renault has stated it will have 14 dealerships in 12 major cities in India to begin with, but has plans to expand its network to 40 dealerships by December 2011.
