M&M launches Xylo

Mahindra XyloMahindra and Mahindra (M&M) launched its new multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) the Xylo yesterday. The car will initially have only a diesel engine option, but a petrol variant is expected to be introduced soon. The Xylo’s starting price is Rs.6.24 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It will have the Toyota Innova as well as premium ‘C’ segment sedans for competition. So far, approximately 1,500 units of the Xylo have been produced at M&M’s Nashik plant.

The car comes with a 2.4 litre mEagle CRDe diesel engine with a capacity of 2,498, and has 4 variants – the E8, E6, E4 and E2. What immediately catches one’s attention is its theatre-style seating. The front seats can be converted into very comfy flat beds, while the back seats have foldable flight-trays for easy on-road snacking. The Xylo also comes equipped with a Digital Drive Assist System (DDAS). It is available in eight shades – fiery black, mist silver, mint green, lucky lilac, gold shimmer, toreador red, java brown and rocky beige.
