Maruti Suzuki has saved that for the car’s launch on the 17th August, 2011 but before that, Maruti has finally decided to “officially” reveal images of the new Swift through its official Facebook page.
It has many major changes of the new Swift, although it will be difficult to discern through the images, except perhaps for the trained eye. The new Swift also features a new petrol engine, which is more powerful than the existing 1.2 Liter K-Series unit due to the dual variable valve technology, while retaining the same engine capacity. The new Swift’s wheelbase is also longer for a full 40mm making for a more stable ride and handling apart from liberating extra cabin space, especially on the rear seats.
The international version of Swift gets a push button start, Maruti has chosen not to include it in the Indian model. The diesel engine Swift though not seeing any change in the Fiat Multijet Diesel engine department, gets an all new variant called the ZDI, which finally means that Swift Diesel owners can specify their cars with both airbags and ABS. The boot though gets smaller on the new Swift, which perhaps is the only bummer on what otherwise looks like a superb package!
Maruti's are build like shaloow tin which gets blow away on highway speeds and in case of accident thts a proven fact… want tank like build quality and high speed stability look for Punto/ polo even TATA does better job than Maruti and korean hyundai punnies..!!
