New KTM Duke Range launched in India

New KTM Duke Range

The much awaited 2017 KTM Duke range has been launched in India. Along with the updated 390 and 200, the Austrian bike maker also brought in the 250 Duke as a surprise addition to the current range of orange hooligans. The 2017 KTM 390 Duke is an all-new model of the motorcycle and comes with a raft of updates. The new 390 Duke is more aggressive and sharper looking than its predecessor, and features a split-design LED headlamp with LED daytime running light, a more angular design, bolt-on subframe, new tail section and a side-mounted exhaust as opposed to the underbelly exhaust of the previous model. It also comes with a bigger 13 litre fuel tank that replaces the old bike’s 11-litre tank. The 2017 390 Duke also comes with a new TFT multi-colour display and ‘KTM My Ride’ Bluetooth connectivity system.

The powertrain of the 390 Duke does not receive any major changes – apart from the fact that it’s now Euro 4 compliant. It’s the same liquid-cooled 373.2cc single-cylinder engine that develops 43bhp and 37Nm of torque. The 250 Duke is a surprise addition to the range. The engine of the 250 Duke is a liquid-cooled 248.8cc single-cylinder engine that develops 30bhp and 24Nm and is paired to a six-speed transmission. The new KTM 200 Duke is just a refreshed version of the older bike. The powertrain is unchanged, albeit it now meets BS IV norms. It’s a 199.5cc liquid cooled single-cylinder engine that churns out 24bhp and 19.2Nm of torque. Power is transferred to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox. The 200 Duke doesn’t get ride-by-wire or slipper clutch or ABS. The 200 Duke is now priced at Rs 1.43 lakh, followed by the new 250 Duke at Rs 1.73 lakh, while the range topping 390 Duke carries a price tag of Rs 2.25 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
