It seems that petrol cars are making a comeback to India now that the government is taking a lot of strict action against diesel engines. This is evident in the fact that after the ban on diesel engines many car makers are now bringing in petrol variants of popular diesel models. The British car maker Land Rover has also taken notice of this and has just announced that the new Range Rover Evoque will now come in a petrol variant in India. The car maker has launched the 2.0 litre petrol derivative at an attractive price of Rs 53.20 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi.
The car is available in the SE Trim and is powered by a 2.0 litre petrol engine that delivers a power output of 238bhp. This is in addition to the 2.0 litre Pure, SE, SE Dynamic, HSE and HSE Dynamic diesel derivatives already on sale in India since December 2016. Rohit Suri, President, Jaguar Land Rover India, said, “We are excited to introduce the 2017 Model Year New Range Rover Evoque with a 2.0 l petrol derivative. The addition of the 2.0 l petrol derivative reinforces our commitment towards customers who aspire to drive this fabulous vehicle with a powerful petrol engine.”Bookings for the 2017 Model Year New Range Rover Evoque 2.0 l petrol derivative are now open at all 23 authorised Land Rover Retailers in India.
